AES Student Funding
- The American Elasmobranch Society Student Research Award: The AES Grant Committee will give a $1,000 award each year to one student for research on elasmobranchs.
- American Elasmobranch Society Student Travel Award: Students presenting a contributed paper as first or sole author during the AES Annual Meeting are invited to apply for financial assistance to attend the meeting.
- Carrier Poster Award: Established in 1999 as the AES Student Poster Award to recognize the outstanding poster delivered by an AES student member during the Annual Meeting, this award has since been generously endowed by Jeff and Carol Carrier.
- Gruber Presentation Award: Established by former president Samuel "Sonny" Gruber to recognize the outstanding presentation delivered by an AES student member at the AES Annual Meeting. Funded by a Sonny Gruber endowment and AES.
- Annual Donald R. Nelson Behavior Research Award: The Donald R. Nelson endowment was established in 1997 to support student research on the behavior and sensory biology of sharks and rays. The award will be made to an AES student member at the AES Annual Meeting.
